Obituary for Robert K. Soales

Robert Soales, age 70, suddenly passed at home in Manasquan, NJ on March 12, 2023. He was born September 17, 1952 in Point Pleasant, NJ. His family moved to Union Township, NJ when he was 6 years of age. Here, he would graduate Union High School, Class of 1970 and moved on to attend the University of Houston. From there he transferred to Kean University of NJ, where he met his wife Madelyn and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1975. He married Madelyn Geddes Soales on October 10, 1976 and then moved to Albuquerque, NM. He spent most of his career at CVI Laser Corporation in Albuquerque, NM where he was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He was able to travel the world while employed at CVI. He was an avid golfer, photographer and guitarist. He truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. After retirement, he returned “home” to the Jersey Shore in 2014. He was a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Manasquan Presbyterian Church. He was an active elder at both churches and played Contemporary Christian music in various praise bands.

He leaves behind his cherished wife, Madelyn (Maddie) and his beloved son, Brian. He is survived by his loving sister, Eileen Pipala and his nieces and nephew, Carolyn Eknoian (John), Colleen Angrist (Richard), and John Pipala as well as first cousin, Elinore Stempniewiecz. He is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Ruth Soales and a multitude of aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Manasquan Presbyterian Church, 16 Virginia Ave., Manasquan, NJ. The visitation will be held at the church at 10 am with a service at 11 am. His cremains will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle, NJ.
