Philip R. Spennato, of Sea Girt, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Long Island, New York and moved to the Jersey Shore where he spent the past 45 years of his life. Phil was a lifelong Yankees fan who enjoyed watching and listening to every single game. He loved baseball and coaching both his sons throughout little league and travel baseball. He dedicated his time to helping South Wall Little League and enjoyed every second being on the field coaching all the boys.
Phil was passionate about music and played in various bands with the most talented musicians around. Those included Salty Dog, Driver, Time Capsule, Michael Davis Band, Velvet Jones, Rogues on the Run and many more. Rock stars come and go, musicians play until they die... and Phil continued to play, promote, and be a part of the music scene all the way to the very end.
Phil was predeceased by his parents Philip Spennato and Amelia Esposito. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathleen Maltby Spennato, two sons, Triston and Shane, sister Aimee Buck, brother- in-law Tom Buck, Mother-in-law Carol Tomes, sister-in-law Mary Flynn and Brian Flynn, sister-in-law Terri Garifine and brother-in-law Todd Garifine, sister-in-law Judi Shade and brother-in-law Peter Shade, brother-in-law Randy Tomes and his fiancé Kim Santman, and his 7 nieces and nephews and 3 great nephews.
