Janice (nee Alsip) Johnson, 82, of Manasquan, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, with her loving family by her side. Janice was a Kentucky native and raised in Carrollton, KY. There, she was a graduate from Carrollton High School. After high school, Janice worked as a secretary in Cincinnati, OH. It was in Kentucky that she met her one true love, Dieter Johnson, who graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. They married and moved to Keyport, NJ where Janice supported her husband’s 35 years of teaching and coaching at Matawan High School. Janice was known for treating many of the team players to her famous fried chicken and potato salad. They moved to Spring Lake Heights where she raised her two daughters, Janine and Pam. Janice worked for 10 years in the guidance office of Wall High School and 20 years as a secretary for Wood, Broege, and Fischer. For the next 15 years, Janice worked at The Arbors in Spring Lake Heights where she happily served and managed the dining room. Janice will be remembered by the residents for helping make parties extra special by sporting her festive aprons, calling Bingo and Horse Races. She had a competitive side which was apparent in her 49 years bowling at the Hwy. 35 Lanes and was an avid card player with several card groups.

Janice was predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years Dieter Johnson, her beloved daughter Janine Stewart, her parents James and Eva Alsip, and her four siblings Jimmy, Jerry, Linda, and Shelby. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law Pam and Mark Herrmann of Manasquan. Janice was the attentive and proud grandmother to Samantha Stewart, Erin Stewart, Ian Stewart, Kyle Stewart, and Jamie Herrmann. Janice was loved and cherished by the entire Johnson family, who as in-laws, embraced her as their own. When with family, there was always fun and laughter.
