George S. Callas, 90, of Brielle, passed away peacefully on October 30. He grew up in New Brunswick with his loving parents and five siblings, of which he was the youngest. George began his career as the Executive Director of the N.J. Senate and continued to remain actively involved in politics throughout his life. His accomplishments and various career paths were admired by many. He was involved with state government, business administration, education, banking, finance, cable television, public affairs, health care and real estate, just to name a few. He was heavily involved in his community and helped so many people who worked with him throughout the years. He was often known to be at the Perkins on Highway 35 and Allaire Rd.in Wall, which he owned with his brother-in-law, Lou Apostolou. The family, as well as their many friends, have so many wonderful memories from there and people still reminisce about those good times.

He is predeceased by his mother and father, Stephen and Agnes Callas, and five devoted siblings. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Marilywn Callas, of Brielle, his daughter, Jennifer Mura and son-in-law, Robert Kehoe, of Brielle, and his son, Stephen Callas and daughter-in-law, Kim Callas, of Fair Haven. He is also survived by his three grandsons, Evan, Jack and Stephen; who will always remember him chasing them around the house when they were young.
