Barbara “Jean” Morris née Borden, 87 of Wall Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 3, 2023. Born in Neptune (“Fitkin Hospital”), Jean married her beloved husband Jack in 1956 and the couple planted their roots in their longtime hometown, Wall Township. She graduated from Manasquan High School and went on to work as an administrative assistant at Camp Evans before turning her devotion to raising her two children.

Jean’s pride and joy was her husband Jack and the amazing family they created. Nothing made her smile more than the achievements of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cheering for her children and grandchildren on the sidelines of countless soccer games. Never letting a good beach day pass her by, Jean enjoyed collecting sea glass, which she used in many beautiful decorations throughout her home. Jean’s home was always warm and welcoming, full of love plus her personal patriotic touches and delicious tomatoes from her garden that she passionately maintained. Throughout the years, Jean loved hosting family and friends for Christmas Eve. She took such great pride in her beautifully decorated Christmas tree full of meaningful ornaments. Jean also thoroughly enjoyed Pete and Elda’s pizza, a staple at many family gatherings.

Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack, parents Charles and Ethel, brothers Charles, Robert and Willis, sisters Anna, Dorothy, Ethel and Shirley, her son Jack, and her granddaughter Jillian. Jean leaves behind a loving daughter Jean (Jay) and daughter-in-law Janet. The only thing that surpassed Jean’s love for her children was her love for her grandchildren – JR (Olga), Brian (Cassidy), Michelle (Eric), Victoria (Ryan), Jacki, Stephanie, Jeannie (Jacob), Megan, Colleen (Mark). Jean also leaves behind two great grandchildren Elliot and Gabriel; and countless loving relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 3-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ, with a memorial service to begin at 6 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
