Anthony J. Palughi, 87, born December 26,1935, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on January 24, 2023. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ he then made his home at the Jersey Shore in 1970. Recently he was a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida. Anthony served his country as a member of the US Army. Most of his life he was employed by Roadway Express. Upon retirement he entered into public service serving as a councilman and official for Monmouth County. Anthony was an active member of the Long Branch Community Club, Elks Lodge, VFW, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Moose Lodge of New Jersey and Florida. When his children were younger he served as Little League coach. In his later years he enjoyed sunning himself while sipping a cocktail and listening to Frank Sinatra & Jimmy Roselli.

Anthony was predeceased by his parents Louis and Antoinette (Gruccio) Palughi, his brothers Michael, Louis, Joseph and his sister Mary Lou Palughi. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Jane (Cavalli), daughter Jane and son-in-law Peter Casagrande, daughter Robyn Palughi, son Anthony R. Palughi (Kimberly Kappock), 6 grandchildren Ashley Steele, Lyndsey Casagrande, Ryan, Codie & Owen Palughi and Makana Shimaoka. Anthony is also survived by his brother James Palughi and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also great grandpa to fur babies Lilo, Zia, & Salem.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 1pm - 4pm, with a prayer service to begin at 3:30 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
