Richard F. Ramme, 74 of Brick passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Richard was born in Rochester, MN and raised in Minnesota, California and France. Richard graduated from John Marshall High School, Rochester, MN and received his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers and his Master’s degree from Farleigh Dickinson University. After high school Richard entered the US Army and after his service he became a civil service employee of the US Army for 40 years, and retired in 2003. He was a Chief Logistician for the Department of Defense. Richard was a member of the Shrewsbury First Aid Squad, Farmingdale First Aid Squad, was an Assistant District Commissioner with the Boy Scouts of America, volunteered for Ocean’s Harbor House “Ride for New Beginnings” and was an Ocean County representative for the PTA. He also volunteered for St. Mary of the Lake Church and helped with Bingo and collection counting for 20 years. Richard will be dearly missed by his dog Reba.
Richard was predeceased by his father Peter Ramme; his mother Jane Clark, stepmother Helyette Ramme, and a brother Douglas Clark. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Doris (nee Reed) Ramme of Brick. He is also survived by his five loving children Glenn Ramme of Johnstown, CO, Craig Ramme of Brick, Jane Flournoy of Arvada CO, Jill Ramme of Atlantic Highlands and Kevin Ramme of Red Bank. Richard also leaves behind seven grandchildren Richard, Aidan, Kyle, Mason, Avery, Samantha and Ella; a brother Eric Ramme of Manhattan and a sister Carole Ann Clark of Maryland.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 9, 2108 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St Denis Church, Manasquan.
