Obituary for Brian James Nilan

Brian James Nilan, 74, born February 25,1944 passed into the hands of God on September 11, 2018 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J. Brian was born and raised in Queens, NY, then resided in Valley Stream, NY, Lakewood, NJ and most recently in Whiting, NJ but his favorite residence was Tequesta, Florida. There he enjoyed the company of his good friends and the warm weather.

Brian was employed for many years by Exxon-Mobil, where some of his duties included Safety Inspector and Union representative. He served his country in the US Navy aboard the carrier Franklin Roosevelt during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0348. He was a kind and caring man and good friend to all. He loved to play golf and played as often as he could. Brian never missed a good party and was always ready with a can of Coors light in his hand. Brian will be greatly missed by all!

Brian is survived by his beloved daughter, Courtney, his loving partner, Jean Madden, his sisters Pat (Pat), Lorraine (Ara) and Peggy and his nieces and nephews.

Brian will be cremated and buried in Calverton Cemetery, Long Island. A Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10 am at St. Dominic's Church, Van Zile Road, Brick, NJ.
Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ.
